The selection and use of conceptual models to guide practice\u00a0<\/span>depends on practitioners\u2019 perceived\u00a0<\/span>utility of models to suit clients and this consecutively is influenced by education, culture and\u00a0<\/span>contextual limitations like insufficient time etc. But using models to guide practice enhances\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>practitioners\u2019<\/span><\/div>\n
professional identity which enables them to uphold the unique stance of this\u00a0<\/span><\/span>profession. Despite these benefits of using models, there is no documented evidence within Indian\u00a0<\/span>literature about which has a potential to jeopardize the growth of this profession in India.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hence there is a dire need to establish foundation which would enable better understanding about\u00a0<\/span>the premise used by Indian therapists\u2019 to make clinical choices. Appropriately, this study intends to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>determine the possible influence of culture on Indian occupational therapists\u2019 perspectives\u00a0<\/span>regarding conceptual models of practice using generic qualitative methodology. Single in-depth\u00a0<\/span><\/span>semi-structured interviews will be conducted with 10 Indian OTs through purposive sampling.\u00a0<\/span>Consent will obtained from participants at different stages and also to tape the interview process.<\/span>Stringent techniques to endure credibility of the study will be ensured using reflexivity, audit trails\u00a0<\/span>and respondent validation and data protection.<\/span>The results obtained with be thematically divided an analysed to obtain authentic findings which\u00a0<\/span>will be related to a larger audience by adopting different strategies. It is expected that this study\u00a0<\/span>will act as a pilot to understand the rationale used by Indian therapists to underpin their\u00a0<\/span>interventions.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
